K-DAY: Block Party!
Summer celebration for children and families at Franklin Park — games, food, music, and community fun. Lead: Crystal.
Volunteers needed: 15-30
Live stream appears here during the event when a feed URL is configured.
The event takes place annually at our local home park, Franklin Park, nestled in the heart of Chambersburg. Children ages 6-14 and their parents are invited to participate in a day of outdoor fun in the sun, physical activities, games, food, and giveaway prizes.
Led by local community leader and charity founder, Larry Paul; the group was inspired to create K-DAY after their Executive Director, Shauna Ike, lost her 8-year-old son, Kayden C. Phillips, who was an innocent victim of a drug related incident in 2021.
During the event there will be a group game with all attendees, music, and family friendly game attractions set up to enjoy completely FREE and courtesy of Culture Change.
At the close of the event, the organization honors a K-DAY ambassador, a child who has demonstrated a special act of kindness, commitment or accomplishment to their community or school. Each ambassador receives a framed certificate, a gift, and a feature on our social media pages.
K-DAY honors Kayden C. Phillips and celebrates children across our community. Each year we name a K-DAY ambassador for kindness, commitment, or accomplishment.
